The Story Behind ReleaseRun

Hello, I’m Jack Pauley, the founder of ReleaseRun. I built this platform because I was tired of being surprised.

Over the years, I’ve managed teams of developers and overseen complex infrastructure. Like many of you, I’ve learned the hard way that "minor" updates often cause major headaches.

I still remember a specific incident where an automatic update to a minor library deprecated a function we relied on. It turned a quiet Tuesday into a 12-hour firefighting session for my team. We realized that if we had just seen the changelog a week earlier, it would have been a five-minute fix. But nobody has time to manually check 15 different GitHub releases pages, RSS feeds, and mailing lists every morning. So, I built the system I wish I had back then.

How It Works

ReleaseRun isn't a generic news site. We ingest release notes the moment they go live, filter out the noise, and focus on what engineers actually care about.

  • Breaking Changes: What code will stop working?
  • Security Patches: What needs to be updated immediately?
  • LTS Schedules: When do we need to migrate?

Automation monitors feeds 24/7, and every guide is reviewed to ensure technical accuracy. We analyze the diff to tell you what actually changed.

Our Promise

We believe in signal, not noise. Whether you are a DevOps engineer managing a Kubernetes cluster or a Frontend Lead tracking browser compatibility, ReleaseRun gives you the actionable intelligence you need to keep shipping confident code.
