FAQ

Does this tool need a GitHub token?

No. It uses only the public GitHub REST API, which allows 60 requests per hour without authentication. If you hit the rate limit, wait a minute and try again.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. All API calls go directly from your browser to api.github.com. Nothing is stored on our servers. The only other network requests are badge images from img.releaserun.com.

How is the health score calculated?

The score is out of 100 points across 11 checks: README (10), licence (10), CI/CD (10), contributing guide (5), security policy (5), code of conduct (5), recent commits (15), recent releases (10), issue management (10), community stars (10), and not-archived status (10). The letter grade maps A (90+) through F (<40).

Does it work with private repositories?

No. Since the tool uses the unauthenticated public API, it can only access public repositories. Private repos will return a 404 error.
